If your city is far from the Guangdong, please fly to cities in Guangdong or near it and then transfer to vehicles. Here is some information for your reference. 

Transportation guide to Zhongshan, Guangdong from main cities:

Shanghai- Zhongshan: Travel by air to Guangzhou or Shenzhen Airport. The flying time would be 1 hour and 40 minutes. The ticket costs 1280 RMB each.

Beijing- Zhongshan: Travel by air to Guangzhou or Shenzhen Airport. The flying time would be 3 hours. The ticket costs 1700 RMB each.

Hong Kong- Zhongshan: Travel by ship or air-con bus.  

By ship: You have many choose of ports in Hong Kong to Zhongshan port. It will take 1 hour and a half. The ticket costs 300 RMB each.

By bus: there are direct buses from Zhongshan International Hotel to Fuhua Hotel. It will take 3 hour. The ticket costs 250 RMB each.

Macao to Zhongshan: There is the direct expressway from Macao airport to Zhongshan downtown. Or you can take a bus to Gongbei port, where there are many buses to Zhongshan downtown. It will mainly take about 1 hour.

Guangzhou Airport- Zhongshan: Take the bus to Zhongshan in the Guangzhou airport, it will mainly take about 3 hour, the ticket costs 50 RMB each, and then transfer to taxi or take a taxi directly to Zhongshan from the Guangzhou airport, it will mainly take about 2.5 hour, the ticket costs 450 RMB each. 

Shenzhen Airport – Zhongshan: A taxi would take 2 hours and cost 400RMB.
